Taxable sales for January mirrored the poor snow conditions of the season’s start and was just shy of $3.5 million. We actually had the lowest month of receipts in recent history (my data only goes back 6 years).

Let’s hope, certainly for our retail and hospitality industry, that the improved snow conditions will also improve the tax receipts for February. For more data and graphs, see the tax page
